Pertenezco a la comunidad de Domus Mariae Aurelia, es una de las nuevas casas de Roma, conocidas como “los villini”, somos 7 consagradas que trabajamos apostólicamente en el colegio Highlands, la UER, el ECYD, Reino y algo de pastoral de la salud.

Después de 2 años de formación en Roma y 1 en Teotepec, estuve 10 años en la academia Le Chatelard como administradora, 2 años en la gira de Polonia, 2 años en las secciones de Saltillo, 1,5 año administradora del Centro de Formación de Cerro del Coto, 2 años administración de Notre Dame en Jerusalén y ahora desde hace dos años en Roma.

La administración en sí no es propiamente una actividad apostólica, pero como apostolado te da la oportunidad fácilmente de experimentar el que somos una familia, al menos en mi experiencia, nunca nos ha faltado nada gracias a la providencia, pero también a nuestros hermanos legionarios, siempre me he sentido acompañada y apoyada por los directores, aunque se vivan momentos de tensión, pero que se comparten y se busca que sea un medio para vivir mejor nuestra consagración y el servicio a nuestra misión. E incluso constatar los pasos que se van dando de renovación como familia aunque aún tenemos mucho que caminar.

Esta asamblea es un paso muy importante, por el que se ha trabajado mucho para encontrar la forma jurídica que proteja el carisma. Debemos dejar realmente hablar mucho a Dios en nuestros corazones, para que la resonancia de sus mociones formen una verdadera melodía al servicio de la extensión del Reino de Dios. Purificar nuestras heridas, prejuicios; comprometernos con nuestra realidad, asumir, colaborar; confiar, mucha fe en los planes de Dios desde un horizonte de plan de salvación que nos trasciende. No tener miedo de crecer, de madurar, de probar cosas nuevas si el Espíritu de Dios está ahí. Obedecer, obedecer, obedecer al plan de Dios.

Para esto pido oraciones, para que seamos dócilmente audaces, fielmente creativas y no cerremos las puertas al soplo del Espíritu; que seamos humildes, conscientes de que somos un todo: padres, laicos, consagrados, consagradas de todo el mundo. Y entre nosotras verdaderamente hermanas que seguimos a un Cristo resucitado que lleva sus heridas. Que contemos con el apoyo de la Sma. Virgen y sigamos su ejemplo.

I was born in Mexico City, but when I was 12 years old I moved to the city of Celaya where my parents currently live as well as my brother and his family.  I also have one brother and one sister who both live in Querétaro.  I was born on February 26, 1974 and was consecrated on August 15, 1994.

I am a member of the community of Domus Mariae Aurelia.  It is one of the new houses in Rome, known as “the villini”.  There are seven consecrated women in my community.  They work apostolically in the Highlands School, in the European University, in ECYD, in Regnum Christi and in pastoral work in healthcare.

After two years of formation in Rome and one year in Teotepec, Mexico, I went to the Le Chatelard Academy in Switzerland.  I was the administrator there for ten years.  I was on the road team in Poland for two years.  I worked in sections for two years in Saltillo, Mexico.  For one and a half years I was the administrator in the formation center in Madrid, Spain.  I worked in administration in the center of Notre Dame in Jerusalem for two years.  I have been in Rome for two years.

Administration in itself is not an apostolic activity, but as an apostolate it gives you the opportunity to easily experience that we are a family.  At least in my experience, we have never lacked anything, thanks to providence, but also thanks to our Legionary brothers.  I have always felt accompanied and supported by directors.  Although there are moments of tension, they can be shared and we can seek to make them a means to live better our consecration and service in our mission.  These moments can even verify the steps that we are taking in our renewal as a family, but we still have a lot to walk in this process.

This assembly is a very important step.  Much work has been done to find the juridical configuration that protects the charism. We must really let God speak a lot in our hearts, so that the resonance of his motions form a true melody in the service of the extension of the Kingdom of God.  He can purify our wounds and prejudices and enable us to commit ourselves to our reality, to assume, to collaborate and to trust.  We need a lot of faith in God’s plans looking from the horizon of the plan of salvation, something that transcends us. We cannot be afraid to grow, to mature, to try new things if the Spirit of God is there. We need to obey, obey, obey God’s plan.

I ask for prayers, so that we are docile and bold, faithfully creative and do not close the doors to the breath of the Spirit.  Please pray that we are humble, aware that we are parts of a whole: Legionaries, lay people, consecrated men, and consecrated women from all over the world.  Finally, please pray that we will live among each other truly as sisters who follow a risen Christ who carries his wounds, and may we count on the support of the Blessed Virgin Mary and follow her example.

Estoy muy agradecida con la Providencia Divina, que por caminos misteriosos me permitió conocer de cerca diversas ramas del Regnum Christi, por medio de las entrevistas históricas que por 17 años me ha sido concedido realizar en numerosísimos viajes. He podido entrar en contacto con legionarios, consagrados, consagradas y seglares de todo el mundo y constatar la vitalidad y la belleza de este Cuerpo en el que todos aportamos una riqueza insustituible. La experiencia de estudio en Roma asimismo, me ha concedido contemplar el Regnum Christi como una planta joven en el jardín fecundísimo de la Iglesia universal.

Llego a esta Asamblea con mucha confianza en el Espíritu Santo que sabrá guiarnos, y con el deseo de presentarle una mente abierta y un corazón a la escucha. Quisiera pedirles que oren para que seamos humildes y dóciles al Espíritu Santo de modo que su luz se abra paso a raudales y disuelva con esa suavidad que es sólo Suya nuestras ideas preconcebidas, temores, prejuicios, prevenciones o polarizaciones, ignorancias y terquedades.

I was born in Barcelona, Spain on January 29, 1969.  I am the second of four children.  Because of my father’s work, the family moved to Monterrey, Mexico where we lived for four years.  It was there that I became a member of ECYD in 1979.  Returning to Barcelona, I became a member of Regnum Christi where Our Lord allowed me to live as a first degree member and then a second degree member.  I was consecrated in Rome on September 8, 1987.  I studied there in the formation center.  I had my first years of apostolic experience as a teacher in the formation center, as assistant for ECYD, as director of the section, and I was responsible for the vocational road team in Italy.  In 1996 I was changed to Chile were I worked in ECYD.  Three years later, I was part of the first community of consecrated women in Argentina.  I worked there two years in the ECYD and Regnum Christi sections.  From Argentina I went to São Paulo, Brazil where I was again a teacher in the formation center for eight months.  In October of 2001, I was asked to help in the general secretariat of the Legion of Christ and Regnum Christi with diverse projects of historical investigation, which I hope to finish soon.  During these years in Rome, I have studied a licentiate in canon law in the Angelicum, where I had the blessing of actively collaborating for two years as the president of the Students’ Association.  I also have studied a licentiate in spiritual theology in the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum.  Currently, I am beginning a doctorate in spiritual theology in the Pontifical Gregorian University.

I am very grateful to Divine Providence for the mysterious ways that it has allowed me to get to know the different branches of Regnum Christi by means of the historical interviews that I conducted for 17 years during numerous trips.  I have been able to have contact with Legionaries, consecrated men, consecrated women and lay members throughout the world and verify the vitality and beauty of this Body to which we all bring an irreplaceable wealth.

The experience of studying in Rome has also allowed me to contemplate Regnum Christi as a young plant in the fertile garden of the universal Church.

I come to this Assembly with great trust in the Holy Spirit who will know how to guide us, and with the desire to present an open mind and a listening heart.  I would like to ask you to pray that we will be humble and docile to the Holy Spirit so that His light will open up in abundance and dissolve with that softness that is only His, our preconceived ideas, fears, prejudices, impediments or polarizations, ignorance and stubbornness.

Actualmente estoy en la comunidad DM Aurelia de Roma, una comunidad compuesta por 7 consagradas, de 6 nacionalidades diversas. Estuve en los centros de formación de Brasil, Monterrey y Cerro del Coto, y en la mitad de mi formación pude colaborar como asistente de formación, para luego ir a Madrid a terminar nuestros estudios. En estos años estuve como asistente de dirección para la formación de las familias y auxiliar de Reino en Sevilla, en el colegio Highlands (3 años), y en estos últimos 7 años estuve en Italia. Me tocó el segundo año de la fundación de Milán, luego la gira del norte de Italia (Padova, Verona y Bolzano) y desde hace 6 años directora de sección de Reino y pastoral universitaria en la Universidad Europea de Roma. Siempre me ha tocado o fundar o la formación de jóvenes, aunque en mis primeros años y en las giras siempre se trabaja una verdadera pastoral familiar. En este tiempo diría que mi experiencia en la formación de jóvenes y en la parte académica es un regalo de Dios para mi alma. Tres de estos años me tocó servir como Directora Territorial de Italia y Jerusalén, y actualmente además del Reino estoy haciendo un doctorado en Bioética.

Estar en el corazón de la Iglesia (Roma) y diría del Movimiento en el sentido que están las casas generales, el seminario de los legionarios, algunos consagrados en formación, etc; ha acrecentado en mi esta certeza interior que siempre he tenido de la belleza de la diversidad en el Movimiento y de la comunión. No obstante esta certeza interior, es verdad que a veces no se puede amar suficientemente lo que no se conoce, y aquí conociendo y trabajando con los hermanos, con los sacerdotes, con los consagrados, las consagradas con misiones bastante novedosas, y con laicos muy comprometidos, he comprendido mucho más lo que son y lo que soy. Siento una gran gratitud por esto.

Puede parecer simple, pero mis expectativas para la asamblea son de dos órdenes que van unidos como el alma al cuerpo. Por un lado la de la búsqueda sincera del querer de Dios, la apertura a escucharlo y encontrarlo en las demás, en mi corazón; una apertura que significa ser capaz de dialogar y cuestionarme, una expectativa de hermandad y comunión; por otro lado el poner al servicio de Dios el estudio, la inteligencia y todo lo que se pueda de nuestra parte para iluminar. Además de aprovechar de los talentos de las demás para construir juntas. Espero que los obstáculos actuales de derecho canónico para la unidad del Movimiento se iluminen y aclaren. Deseo que podamos ver lo esencial para poder pensar fuera de la caja en cuanto a la forma exterior, esto nos dará libertad.

Creo que es importante leer, estudiar no solo la letra del derecho, sino preguntarse mucho si esto refleja lo que somos y también ver la interpretación que este derecho tiene en la Iglesia hoy y su aplicación, sino nos faltaría algo. Ver también la praxis actual de la Iglesia.

Les pediría a mis hermanas que en su oración obtengan para mí, (y creo que para todas) un corazón desprendido de ideas prefijadas, discernimiento, virtudes teologales y don del Espíritu Santo, y gran fortaleza para afrontar y escuchar los movimientos del corazón y poner al servicio mi persona. I am María Cecilia Bayón from Argentina.  I am one of four children.  I have ten nieces and nephews between the ages of two and eight years.  They are beautiful!  I was born on August 24, 1975 and was consecrated on March 4, 2001 after having studied law.  I received my degree in December of 2000.

I am currently in the community of Domus Mariae Aurelia in Rome.  It is a community of seven consecrated women of six different nationalities.  I was in the formation centers in Brazil, Mexico, and Spain.  In the middle of my formation, I helped as an assistant of those in formation.  I finished my studies in Madrid, Spain.  In Seville, Spain I was an assistant of direction dedicated to the formation of the families at the Highlands School.  I also helped in the Regnum Christi section for three years.  For the last seven years, I have been in Rome.  I was in the second year of foundation in Milán, and then I was on the road team in northern Italy (Padua, Verona and Bolzano).  Six years ago, I became the director of the Regnum Christi section for young adults and director for pastoral work in the European University of Rome.  I have always been in foundations or helping to form young people, although in my first years of apostolate and on the road team, I worked with families.  At this time, I would say that my experience in the formation of young people and in the academic area is a gift from God for my soul. For three years I served as territorial director of Italy and Jerusalem.  Currently, I am studying a doctorate in Bioethics, in addition to my work in the Regnum Christi section.

Being in the heart of the Church (Rome), and I would say in the heart of the Movement also since there are houses of general direction, the Legionaries’ seminary, and some consecrated men who are in formation, has increased in me this inner certainty that I have always had of the beauty of the diversity in the Movement and of communion. Despite this inner certainty, it is true that sometimes you cannot fully love what you do not know.  Knowing and working with the brothers, with the priests, with the consecrated men, the consecrated women who have quite novel missions, and with very committed lay people, I have understood much more who they are and who I am. I am very grateful for this.

It may seem simple, but I have two types of expectations for the assembly that go together as the soul does with the body. On the one hand, I hope there will be a sincere search for God’s will, the openness to listen to it and to find it in others, and in my heart.  This openness means being able to dialogue and question.  This is an expectation of brotherhood and communion.  On the other hand, I hope to put at God’s service my study, intelligence and all that I can do for my part to illuminate. Also, to take advantage of the talents of others to build together. I hope that the current obstacles of canon law for the unity of the Movement will be illuminated and clarified.  I desire that we can see the essential so as to be able to think outside the box in terms of the external form.  This will give us freedom.

I think it is important to read, to study not only the letter of the law, but to ask ourselves a lot if this reflects what we are and also see the interpretation that this law has in the Church today and its application, otherwise we will be missing something. We also need to see the current praxis of the Church.

I would ask my sisters to secure for me in prayer, (and I think for everyone) a heart detached from preconceived ideas, a heart of discernment, of the theological virtues.  I also ask for the gift of the Holy Spirit and a great strength to face and listen to the movements of the heart as well as to be able to put myself at the service of others. I am praying for all of you, and I want to see you soon and take you for an outing around here.
