Mi experiencia apostólica ha sido sobre todo en el campo educativo y me ha encantado poder compartir la misión con tantas personas dedicadas y comprometidas además de sentirme en familia viviendo esta misión con otras consagradas, sacerdotes, colaboradoras y seglares. Hace poco en Woodlands para el día de la vida consagrada una niña me preguntó qué era lo que más me gustaba de ser consagrada y le contesté que sentía que Dios me pedía abrir mi corazón para que hubiera espacio para muchas personas pero Él también me regalaba el cariño de muchas personas. En los colegios así ha sido, la oportunidad de estar presente en la vida de muchas personas ayudando a formar a los alumnos, mientras una busca ser señal del amor de Dios hacia todos.

Espero que la asamblea sea un momento de profundizar en el don que hemos recibido sabiendo que las palabras siempre serán limitadas para expresar el todo pero más allá de esto es el espíritu, y eso se transmite con la vida. Pido oraciones para que seamos capaces de vivir lo que Dios quiere para nosotras.

I am Jacinta Curran.  I was born in Dublin, Ireland on April 4, 1960.  I became a member of ECYD in 1975 and later of Regnum Christi in 1977.  I have a brother who is ten years younger than me and a sister who is 15 years younger than me.  I left my house to begin formation when they were 11 and six years old.  I was consecrated on July 21, 1979 and began my formation in 1981 after finishing my studies in psychology.  After a few months in Dublin, I moved to Rome.  After two years of formation, I began the adventure of the apostolate.  Despite my almost 40 years as a consecrated woman, I have not had many changes of apostolate.  I feel that this stability has made me much of the person that I am today.  First, I founded in the United States where we inaugurated Overbrook Academy in 1984.  Almost six years later, I went to Rome to study in the John Paul II Institute.  I was there for only a year.  I then went to Mexico City to the Irish Institute.  I have very good memories from the eight years in that city.  Then God invited me to continue the adventure in Vienna, Austria for five years.  During this time, I was able to learn a lot about the realities of the places that today make up a large part of the territory of Europe as well as learn something of the German language. From Vienna I went to the Highlands School in Seville, Spain where I spent ten years.  I was delighted to be with the people of Seville as well as with the consecrated women who were also in Seville.   I left Seville for Madrid as a territorial councilor, but God had other plans for me after just a few months. I am currently the territorial director of central and western Europe.  It includes five countries, so my usual companion is a suitcase!  In September, I began to live with the community of the Woodlands Academy in Ireland.  I am very grateful for the welcome that the community has given me, making me feel very «at home» when I am in the house.  I have had the opportunity to live in my country again, which is a cultural experience for me and an excellent opportunity to be closer to my family.

My apostolic experience has been especially in the field of education.   I have loved sharing the mission with so many dedicated and committed people.  I have felt that I belong to a family, living this mission with other consecrated women, priests, Regnum Christi missionaries and lay people. Recently in Woodlands for the day of consecrated life a girl asked me what I liked the most about being consecrated, and I answered that I felt that God was asking me to open my heart so there would be space for many people but He also gave me the gift of receiving the affection of many people.  This is how it has been in our schools.  There has been the opportunity to be present in the lives of many people helping in the students’ formation, while at the same time, seeking to be a sign of God’s love for all.

I hope that the assembly will be a time to deepen in the gift we have received knowing that words will always be limited to express everything.  We need to remember that beyond the words is the spirit, and that is transmitted with life. I ask for prayers so that we are able to live what God wants for us.

Para mí, una de las gracias de estos años en Francia ha sido la de maravillarme de cómo el carisma del Regnum Christi se despliega a través de los laicos, los legionarios y las consagradas, tanto en las actividades propias del Reino como en las obras diocesanas en las que todos estamos comprometidos.

Desde que conocí el Movimiento, como miembro del ECYD en 1991, lo que me ha cautivado siempre ha sido la búsqueda de Cristo como Amigo íntimo. Su amor que se revela y se da, ha generado en mí el deseo de ser más suya y de colaborar en su misión. La misma convicción me anima hoy, a unos días de participar en la asamblea.

Mi única expectativa es que discernamos como hermanas lo que creemos que sea el camino que nos permita servir mejor a Nuestro Señor. Sin temor y sin tensión, sin confundir el camino con la meta, sin confundir los medios con el fin y teniendo la mirada puesta en lo esencial. En este proceso, la Iglesia nos sigue acompañando como buena Madre y esto nos debe dar confianza.

Pidamos para que sepamos ponernos a la escucha sincera del Espíritu, la escucha como la actitud primera y más fundamental de todo discípulo: “Escucha, Israel: el Señor, nuestro Dios, es el único Señor. Amarás al Señor, tu Dios, con todo tu corazón, con toda tu alma y con todas tus fuerzas. Graba en tu corazón estas palabras que yo te dicto hoy. Incúlcalas a tus hijos, y háblales de ellas cuando estés en tu casa y cuando vayas de viaje, al acostarte y al levantarte. Átalas a tu mano como un signo, y que estén como una marca sobre tu frente. Escríbelas en las puertas de tu casa y en sus postes.” (Deuteronomio 6,4-9)

I was born on March 3, 1978 in Switzerland.  I was consecrated on September 5, 1996.  I am currently in Paris, France.  After having been in apostolate for ten years in the same country, I am now finishing a period of studies in theology.

One of the graces for me during these years in France has been to marvel at how the Regnum Christi charism unfolds through the lay people, the Legionaries and the consecrated women.  It occurs both in the specific activities of the Movement, as well as in our work in the diocese where we are all committed.

I became a member of ECYD in 1991.  Since I have gotten to know the Movement, what has always captivated me has been the search for Christ as an intimate Friend. His love that is revealed and given, has produced in me the desire to be more his and to collaborate in his mission. The same conviction encourages me today, just a few days before participating in the assembly.

My only expectation is that we discern as sisters what we believe is the way that allows us to better serve Our Lord.  And that we discern without fear or tension, without confusing the path with the goal, without confusing the means with the end and with our gaze fixed on the essential. The Church continues to accompany us as a good Mother in this process, and this should give us confidence.

Let us pray so that we know how to listen to the Spirit sincerely, listening as the first and most fundamental attitude of every disciple: «Listen, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise. Bind them as a sign on your hand, fix them as an emblem on your forehead, and write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.» (Deuteronomy 6: 4-9)

Mi aventura empezó después de mi colegio con la decisión de dar un año como colaboradora aunque sólo había tenido unos pocos contactos con las consagradas que hacían giras en Alemania. Conocí el Regnum Christi con más intensidad en el cursillo de colaboradoras en el verano de 1997 en Roma donde me incorporé, y luego durante mi año como colaboradora en Guadalajara, México. Me atraía mucho este amor profundo y apasionado a Cristo que dejaba un fuego en el corazón y lo transformaba en un corazón inquieto que quiere dar el amor de Cristo a los demás y que no teme recorrer el mundo entero para ello. Desde estos inicios tenía la convicción interior que el Regnum Christi es una única y gran familia y había recibido un regalo inmerecido de pertenecer a ella.

Me consagré el 30 de agosto de 1998 en Roma. Después de mis primeros años de formación estuve once años fundando y trabajando en el ECYD y Regnum Christi en diferentes partes en Alemania, y siempre he percibido como una gracia estar en los inicios del Regnum Christi en Alemania. Mirando hacia atrás he pensado muchas veces…¡que era una locura en lo que nos metimos! Mientras dos consagradas trabajaban en la zona de Colonia, empecé giras en el resto de Alemania con Nancy Nohrden. Ella no hablaba el idioma y las dos éramos muy jóvenes y sin mucha experiencia, yendo de un lugar a otro compartiendo el don del carisma: “Lo que habéis recibido gratis, dadlo gratis.” ¡Era una locura que valía la pena! y después de estos años ya no puedo dudar de si el carisma existe. Lo palpé muchas veces, y la Iglesia y la gente lo necesitaban y lo esperaban.

Después trabajé cuatro años como instructora de formación en Woodlands Academy en Irlanda y fue un tiempo hermoso en el que pude dar el amor de Cristo siendo yo misma, viviendo con y acompañando a las adolescentes. En septiembre 2017 Dios me metió en una nueva aventura: Estoy viviendo en este momento en Budapest como directora de comunidad (por cierto, muyc  chiquita). Por ahora me toca aprender el idioma y conocer la cultura, para que con el tiempo pueda dar a Dios no solo sólo con una sonrisa sino también con palabras, involucrándome en el colegio y la sección en Budapest.

Hace apenas un mes (febrero de este año), tuve una gracia muy especial. Participé en la convención del Regnum Christi de señoras de Europa en la que participaron alrededor de 60 señoras. Además estuvimos presentes todas las ramas del Movimiento porque vinieron dos consagrados a compartir su vivencia del carisma. El tema fue “Vuelve a encender la llama”, y fue evidente cómo este fuego del carisma está encendido y muy vivo en el corazón, más allá de nacionalidad, edad o rama. Experimentamos una gran unidad en su diversidad.

Si puedo pedir algo para la asamblea que está por venir, pediría que los participantes sepamos escuchar lo que Dios quiere con un corazón abierto y dócil.

My name is Melanie Zoll.  I am German, and was born in the region of North Rhine-Westphalia on July 24, 1977.  I grew up in a family with two younger siblings and two older siblings.  We learned about Regnum Christi through the first Legionaries who founded a novitiate in Germany.  I am grateful that my family supports my vocation in Regnum Christi and that they can share it with me.

My adventure began after finishing high school.  I decided to give a year as a Regnum Christi missionary, even though I had little contact with the consecrated women who were on road teams in Germany. I got to know Regnum Christi with more intensity in the course of preparation for the Regnum Christi missionaries in the summer of 1997 in Rome.  It was there that I became a member of Regnum Christi.  I continued to learn about it during my year as a Regnum Christi missionary in Guadalajara, Mexico. I was very attracted to the deep and passionate love for Christ that left a fire in my heart and transformed it into a restless heart that wanted to give the love of Christ to others, not afraid to travel the whole world in order to do it.  From these beginnings I had the inner conviction that Regnum Christi is a unique and great family, and that I had received an undeserved gift of belonging to it.

I was consecrated on August 30, 1998 in Rome. After my first years of formation, I spent eleven years founding and working in ECYD and Regnum Christi in different parts of Germany.  I have always perceived it to be a grace to be a part of the beginnings of Regnum Christi in Germany.  Looking back, I have thought many times that it was crazy what we got into!  While two consecrated women worked in the Cologne area, I started travelling to the rest of Germany with Nancy Nohrden.  She did not speak the language, and we were both very young and did not have much experience.  We went from one place to another sharing the gift of the charism: «What you have received for free, give it for free.»  It was crazy but well worth it!  After these years, I have no doubt that a charism exists.  I felt it many times, and the Church and the people needed it and were waiting for it.

I then worked four years as an instructor of formation at Woodlands Academy in Ireland.  It was a beautiful time in which I was able to give the love of Christ by being myself, living with and accompanying adolescent girls. In September 2017, God placed me in a new adventure: I am currently living in Budapest, Hungary as the director of the community of consecrated women (it is very small).  For now, I have to learn the language and get to know the culture, so that in time I can give God not only with a smile but also with words, by getting involved in the school and the Regnum Christi section in Budapest.

Just a month ago (February of this year), I had a very special grace. I participated in the women’s Regnum Christi convention in Europe.  About 60 women participated in it.  In addition, all of the branches of the Movement were present, because two consecrated men came to share their experience of the charism.  The theme was «Re-ignite the flame», and it was evident how this fire of the charism is lit and very alive in the heart, beyond nationality, age or branch of the Movement. We experience a great unity in the diversity of Regnum Christi.

If I can ask for something for the upcoming assembly, I would ask that the participants know how to listen to what God wants with an open and docile heart.

Fui asistente en el centro estudiantil de México y después trabajé muchos años en el ECYD de México Poniente y de Chile. El último año en Chile fui también directora de sección de jóvenes. Los últimos cinco años he estado en Paris como directora de la comunidad y estudiando teología espiritual en la facultad de los jesuitas de Paris. Actualmente, además de la comunidad, estoy en el consejo territorial, coordino la catequesis en nuestra Parroquia, apoyo en las actividades de adolescentes y jóvenes y he empezado a acompañar personalmente en retiros ignacianos.

Cuando estuve en Chile viví una experiencia muy fuerte de comunión entre todas las ramas del Movimiento. En el 2008 un grupo de alumnas del Cumbres tuvo un accidente en el que murieron nueve de ellas. Tenían entre 15 y 16 años. Muchas de ellas habían estado en NET y en el ECYD. Varias de sus mamás eran un gran apoyo en el ECYD y en el colegio. Después del accidente se creó una comunidad muy bonita entre las consagradas, los capellanes del colegio y las familias que hizo que el camino se hiciera vivible desde la fe y en familia.

Para estas asambleas, quisiera que pudiéramos vivirlas en un clima de profundo discernimiento y escucha al Espíritu Santo que se manifiesta donde quiere y cómo quiere. Que sea Él quien nos marque los pasos a dar. Pediría que nos abramos a la acción del Espíritu. Que podamos vivir a la escucha de Dios en el interior y en nuestras hermanas para buscar juntas lo que Dios quiere de nosotras en este momento histórico.

I am Venezuelan, and I was born on August 16, 1980.  I am the youngest of six children.  I was consecrated on August 21, 1999, and currently I am in the community in Paris.  We are eight consecrated women of six different nationalities, between the ages of 26 and 78 years old.  It is a community in which God is sought from our diversity.

I was an assistant in the pre-candidacy in Mexico, and afterwards I worked for many years in ECYD in western Mexico City and Chile.  My last year in Chile, I was also the director of the youth section.  For the last five years I have been in Paris as the director of the community and studying spiritual theology at a Jesuit college.  Besides being the director of the community, I am also a territorial councilor.  I coordinate the catechesis in our parish, and I support the activities for adolescents and youth and have begun to accompany those who participate in retreats according to the methodology of St. Ignatius.

When I was in Chile, I had a very strong experience of communion among all the branches of the Movement. In 2008, a group of students from the Cumbres School were involved in a bus accident in which nine of them died.  They were between 15 and 16 years old.  Many of the girls had been in NET and in ECYD.  Several of their moms were very supportive of ECYD and active in the school.  After the accident, a very beautiful community was created among the consecrated women, the chaplains of the school and the families.  This made it possible to live the situation as a family and from a perspective of faith.

I would like us to live these assemblies in a climate of profound discernment and with an attitude of listening to the Holy Spirit who manifests Himself where he wants and how He wants.  We need to let him be the one who shows us the steps to be taken.  I would ask that we open ourselves to the action of the Spirit.  May we live listening to God interiorly and in our sisters, in order to seek together what God wants from us in this historical moment.
