Estuve por muchos años apoyando en la formación académica en el centro estudiantil y, después, como profesora en el centro de formación de Brasil. Además he trabajado con los jóvenes del Regnum Christi y del ECYD de algunas ciudades del estado de São Paulo. En estos años me he dedicado a apoyar en la formación teológica, formación cristiana y acompañamiento espiritual de jóvenes y adultos. En la Archidiócesis de São Paulo fui profesora en uno de los cursos de teología para laicos y fui una de las organizadoras del Congreso de Educación.

En 2015 me gradué en teología por la PUC-SP (Pontificia Universidad Católica de São Paulo) y ahora estoy empezando la maestría en teología bíblica en la misma universidad.

Espero que las asambleas sean verdaderamente una experiencia de discernimiento del querer de Dios para el Regnum Christi en la que acojamos con paz las novedades del Espíritu.

I am África Pemán.  I am 52 years old.  I was born on September 14, 1965.  I have been consecrated in Regnum Christi for 32 years.  I was consecrated on November 24, 1985.  I was born in Cádiz, Spain.  I am the oldest of seven children.  All of my siblings are married.  My mother died in November of 2014.  My father will be 80 years old in a few months.

Currently, I am serving in Regnum Christi as the territorial director of Chile, which includes Chile and Argentina.  There are three communities of consecrated women in the territory.  Thanks be to God; I am able to be with these consecrated women a lot.  I belong to the community of Domus Mariae San Carlos of Apoquindo in Santiago, Chile.  It is a numerous community with a lot of internationality and a great human as well as spiritual richness.  I experience profound human and spiritual ties with the consecrated women in my community.  I also have these ties with the consecrated women in the other communities in the territory.

I began my years of consecrated life with three years of formation in Rome.  Afterwards, I was in Mexico for 17 years: eight years in ECYD in Monterrey, two and a half years in Guadalajara as director of the section of young women and as director of the community of consecrated women, and seven years in Mexico City as director of the Bosque School and director of the community of consecrated women.  Afterwards, I was in Madrid for seven years as director of the Highlands School (Encinar).  Since December of 2012, I have had my current mission as the territorial director of Chile and Argentina.

Regnum Christi did not exist in my hometown.  My first contact was through some Legionary of Christ priests who were part of a vocational road team.  They ended up becoming a part of my family.  They helped me to know about Regnum Christi, to become a member, and then to begin ECYD in my hometown.  From the beginning of my vocation in Regnum Christi, and afterwards throughout my years as a consecrated woman, I have always felt part of a family.  I have been able to live, enjoy and experience the importance and the complementarity of each of the vocations that are within the Movement.  The last of the vocations that I discovered and have been able to have more contact with, has been the lay consecrated men.  They are an immense blessing!

I am going to the Assembly with a lot of trust, because I see clearly that God’s Providence has guided us and that He keeps guiding us.  I trust enormously in the Church as the mediation that allows us to live God’s plan for our lives.  With the opportunity to ask for prayers from all of the consecrated women, I ask that they pray that God purifies the hearts of all of us that will participate in the Assembly so that we can have an attitude of profound and active listening so that Christ reigns in the Assembly, and that through the action of the Holy Spirit He will show us the next step that we have to take.  And so we can take that step with great responsibility and with enormous peace.

Me consagré el 29 de septiembre de 2001 y actualmente formo parte de la comunidad de Sao Paulo. Es una comunidad que se ha ido construyendo a lo largo de los casi tres años que llevo en Brasil. Cuando llegué éramos tres y ahora somos ocho. Mi comunidad es el lugar en el que me encuentro más conmigo misma: en los encuentros con cada una me descubro más y más y a la vez es el lugar donde más puedo entregarme, escuchar, acompañar. Yo diría que caminamos juntas intentando ofrecer lo que cada una es e intentando recibir el don que las demás son.

En mi recorrido apostólico, primero estuve cinco años en el centro de formación de Cerro del Coto, Madrid: los primeros dos como formanda, los siguientes dos como asistente, y el último como gerente. Después formé parte de la comunidad de Mirasierra. Viví tres años allí siendo la gerente de la comunidad y trabajando apostólicamente como subdirectora en el colegio Highlands del Encinar. Mi siguiente destino fue mi ciudad natal. Fueron seis años. Trabajé en la sección de jóvenes, desde donde quise apoyar el trabajo de la pastoral juvenil de la diócesis (fue una experiencia de Iglesia muy bonita); también trabajé en el colegio Santa Isabel como instructora de los alumnos de los últimos cursos. Los últimos tres años de este periodo fui directora de la comunidad y el último año fui nombrada consejera territorial. Desde hace casi tres años estoy en Brasil, donde soy la directora territorial y directora de la comunidad de Sao Paulo.

Son bastantes las experiencias que gracias a Dios he tenido y que me han enriquecido, pero quizá la que recuerdo con más cariño y claridad fue la convención de apostolado que tuvimos el año pasado en Brasil con la presencia de todas las ramas. Me llena el corazón poder compartir con consagrados, seglares y legionarios lo que Dios ha puesto en nuestro corazón y buscar juntos cómo evangelizar este territorio. Es precioso rezar juntos, discutir, llegar a un consenso; incluso es precioso llegar a percibir un conflicto entre nosotros y juntos hablarlo y llegar a soluciones que no estaban hechas de antemano.

Mi expectativa para esta asamblea es poder encontrarme con cada consagrada que va a hacer esta experiencia conmigo. Y a todas las consagradas les pediría que se sientan y sepan una con nosotras pues lo que vamos a tratar es de todas. Por tanto, recen porque el Espíritu Santo nos de el don de lenguas para comprendernos y el don de la comunión. Todo lo demás se dará por añadidura.

I am from Barcelona, Spain.  I am from a family of five children, and one of them is my twin.  I was born on April 29, 1975, and five minutes later my sister was born.  My father died 21 years ago.  It was a very painful event that we lived, but it united us much more as a family. My mother is a great gift and a great support in my life and vocation.

I was consecrated on September 29, 2001, and I currently am a member of the community in São Paulo, Brazil.  It is a community that has formed and grown over the almost three years that I have been in Brazil.  When I arrived there were three of us, and now we are eight consecrated women.  My community is the place where I find myself the most: in encounters with each one I discover myself more and more, and at the same time, it is the place where I can give myself the most, where I can listen and accompany.  I would say that we walk together, trying to offer what each one is and trying to receive the gift that the others are for the community.

In my apostolic experience, I was first in the formation center in Madrid, Spain for five years.  The first two years I was in formation.  The next two years I was an assistant.   The last year I was vice director.  Afterwards, I was a member of the community of Mirasierra.  I lived there three years.   I was the vice director of the community and worked apostolically as the assistant director in the Highlands School (Encinar).  I then went to my hometown.  I was there six years.  I worked in the youth section, where I wanted to support the pastoral work with youth of the diocese (it was a very beautiful experience of the Church).  I also worked in the Saint Isabel School as an instructor of formation for high school girls.  I was the director of the community for the last three years in Barcelona.  The last year I was named a territorial councilor.  For almost three years I have been in Brazil, where I am the territorial director and director of the community of São Paulo.

I have had many experiences that, thanks be to God, have enriched me, but perhaps the one I remember with more fondness and clarity is the apostolate convention that we had last year in Brazil.  All of the branches of Regnum Christ were present. It fills my heart to share with consecrated men, lay members and Legionaries what God has put in our hearts and to seek together how to evangelize this territory. It is beautiful to pray together, to discuss, to reach a consensus.   It is even beautiful to come to perceive a conflict between us and together talk about it and find solutions that were not made beforehand.

My expectation for this assembly is to be able to meet every consecrated woman who is going to have this experience with me.  I would ask all the consecrated women to sit down and be one with us, because what we are going to deal with belongs to everyone. Therefore, pray that the Holy Spirit gives us the gift of tongues to understand each other and the gift of communion.

Hice mi formación e iniciación apostólica en Brasil y en los EUA. En este tiempo, realicé varios apostolados: giras vocacionales, catequesis, ECYD, pastoral universitaria, pastoral de adultos del Regnum Christi, profesora (Centro de Formación, Brasil), instructora de formación y equipo administrativo (Northwoods Catholic School, Houston, TX). En 2017, terminé una maestría en Teología Espiritual por Oblate School of Theology en Texas. Actualmente trabajo en la sección de señoras en São Paulo y desarrollo cursos de Acompañamiento Espiritual.

Uno de los momentos donde pude experimentar el carisma de la familia Regnum Christi ha sido durante los cursos de dirección y acompañamiento espiritual. Impartí cursos en México y Brasil con grupos compuestos de miembros consagradas y consagrados, seglares del Regnum Christi y sacerdotes Legionarios de Cristo. Han sido oportunidades para aprender, dialogar, rezar y comer juntos como una sola familia. Cada jornada de estudio observé en los participantes un espíritu de humildad y apertura al otro. Todos eran conscientes de que Dios hablaba a través de cada uno, pues somos iguales en dignidad y llamados, en este caso, a la misión particular de acompañantes de otro en el camino espiritual. La Comunión y la Espiritualidad que se vive en familia durante estos días es siempre maravilloso y me llena de gratitud.

Me preparo para esta Asamblea pidiendo a Dios el don de la escucha para abrirme a la voz del Espíritu y el don de la valentía para seguir lo que este mismo Espíritu quiere proponer. ¡Gracias por su confianza!

I am Kate O’Connor.  I was born in Stratford, Canada on February 21, 1979.  I was in the pre-candidacy for one year in Rhode Island.  I was consecrated with my sister, Siobhan, in Rhode Island on August 29, 1997.

I was in Brazil and the United States for formation and in my first years in the apostolate.  During this time, I had various apostolates: vocational road teams, catechesis, ECYD, pastoral work with college students, pastoral work with adults in Regnum Christi, teaching in the formation center in Brazil,  formation instructor and part of the administrative team in Northwoods Catholic School (Houston, Texas).  In 2017, I finished a master’s degree in spiritual theology at the Oblate School of Theology in Texas. I currently work in the Regnum Christi women’s section in São Paulo, Brazil.  I am also developing spiritual accompaniment courses.

One of the moments when I was able to experience the charism of the Regnum Christi family was  during the courses of spiritual guidance and accompaniment. I taught courses in Mexico and Brazil with groups composed of consecrated women and consecrated men, lay members of Regnum Christi and Legionary priests. They have been opportunities to learn, talk, pray and eat together as one family.  Each day of study I observed in the participants a spirit of humility and openness to the others. Everyone was aware that God spoke through each one, because we are equal in dignity and are called, in this case, to the particular mission of accompanying others on the spiritual path. The communion and spirituality that was lived as a family during those days was wonderful, and it filled me with gratitude.

I prepare for this Assembly by asking God for the gift of listening so as to open myself to the voice of the Spirit.  I also ask for the gift of courage to follow what this same Spirit wants to propose to me. Thank you for your trust!
